This stable motorsailer was built in 1921 by J.P. SMIT shipyard in Rotterdam with the design of Piet Smit Jr inspired by the Baltimore clippers. Originally a Nederlandse loodsshoener Dutch pilot boat which was converted by a Philadelphia cotton tycoon in 1933 and renamed by king Farouk of Egypt “Feid el Bihar” at the end of the Forties.
